Voluntary Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 11% by 2030; Participation in Emissions Trading Simulation
Arneg Korea has signed the 'Corporate Carbon Action' agreement with Gwangju Metropolitan City, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2045. The signing ceremony was held at Gwangju City Hall and attended by Kwak Heun-sang, Arneg Korea's plant manager, the Mayor of Gwangju, representatives from the Korea Energy Agency, and several participating companies, all of which pledged mutual cooperation.
The 'Corporate Carbon Action' project involves small and medium-sized enterprises voluntarily reducing greenhouse gas emissions and participating in a simulated emissions trading system despite not being legally obligated to do so. Through this initiative, companies can actively engage in reducing greenhouse gases and promote sustainable management while strengthening collaboration with the local community.
Arneg Korea has set a target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by over 11% by 2030. The company plans to transparently provide related information, such as energy usage, and conduct emissions trading simulations based on the reduced greenhouse gases. This agreement underscores Arneg Korea's commitment to fulfilling its environmental responsibilities and actively implementing management policies for a sustainable future.
Arneg Korea stated, "With the global trend towards carbon neutrality and renewable energy (RE100), companies must adapt. With the strong support from Gwangju City and the Korea Energy Agency, we will formulate concrete plans and enhance cooperation to achieve these goals," reaffirming their commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
